چکیده
Pesticides are designed to control pests. They all are toxic to some level; otherwise they would not kill pests. They can also be toxic to non-target organisms such as plants, animals or humans. Exposure to a sufficient amount of almost any pesticide can affect a person—either through illness, eye exposure or skin sensitivity. Excess of any compound will be harmful to life and consider leader toxicity studies Pesticides are use for welfare of human beings but by the time, they will challenge us by showing their toxicity. Pesticide pollution brings about sudden & drastic changes. The biological effects of pesticides and their mode of action are obtained from toxicity studies. The present study aim to find out the short term exposure effect of Lambda cyhalothrin on Albino mice with various doses 8,12,16,20,24,28,36,40,48,52 mg/kg bw respectively. By the study of toxicity evaluation by the Probit Analysis method of Finney, LD50 of Lambda cyhalothrin has been found to be 24mg/kg bw with the exposure period of 48hrs.

Median lethal dose (LD50) estimation of β-cyfluthrin in male and female Swiss albino mice
Present study was undertaken to determine the median lethal dose (LD50) of β-cyfluthrin (β-cyf), a synthetic (type II) pyrethroid pesticide in male and female Swiss albino mice. The calculation of LD 50 is an initial screening step in the assessment and evaluation of the toxic characteristic of a chemical substance. The selected single doses of β-cyfluthrin based on the pilot study were 200, 22...
متن کاملEvaluation of Acute toxicity of Lambda Cyhalothrin in Mus musculus L.
Lambda Cyhalothrin (LCT) is a type II synthetic pyrethroid widely used in agriculture, home pest control and protection of food stuff. Here, we evaluated its toxicity on biochemical parameters (Total protein, Acetyl cholinesterase, RNA and DNA) and liver histological alteration in mice after 24 h of oral administration @ 25, 50 and 75% of LD50 i.e.; 26.49 mg/kg/body wt. Distilled water (DW) and...
متن کاملLambda, the pyrethroid insecticide as a mutagenic agent in both somatic and germ cells
Cytogenetic evaluations of pyrethroid insecticide cyhalothrin (lambda) were investigated in mice in vivo by recording chromosomal aberrations in bone marrow cells and in primary spermatocytes. Cyhalothrin (lambda) insecticide was orally administrated with 2, 2.5, 5 mg/kg b.wt. (1 ∕10, 1 ∕8, 1 ∕4 LD50 doses respectively) for repeated treatment. Cyhalothrin (lambda) was found to produce a signifi...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Extracts From Rhizomes of Polygonum bistorta for the Median Lethal Dosages in Swiss Albino Mice
Background: Polygonum bistorta has been used as a remedy for jaundice, smallpox, pimples, measles, cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, expelling worms, insect stings and snakebites. In this study, the crude extract from P. bistorta and two fractions viz. hexane and chloroform obtained from the crude extract were studied for their median lethal dosages (LD50) in Swiss albino mice. Methods: Powdered ...

Chlorpyrifos, lambda-cyhalothrin, cypermethrin, spinosad and buprofezin were tested against the second instar larvae and adults (except buprofezin) of the green lacewing, Chrysoperla carnea. The results showed that chlorpyrifos was more toxic to second instar larvae than lambda-cyhalothrin, cypermethrin, spinosad and buprofezin with LC50 values of 1.78, 8.81, 26.9, 294.36 and 997.05 ppm respect...
